A Note From the Headmaster
Greetings Parents,I wanted to thank two people who were instrumental in helping kick-off our semester. Mr. Withers helped set up and organize our high school symposium. Our speaker, Dr. Owen Anderson, challenged our students to consider the need for meaning rather than simply hoping for a decent and pleasant life, as sought by Ivan Ilych, the main character in the novella the students read and discussed. Ms. Hudson organized and oversaw the Middle School Symposium on friendship. Our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students read a number of fables, shared in seminar, and considered various role play scenarios to reflect on what it means to be a friend. Two alumni, Krysten Caballero, and Noah Roundy, were the keynote speakers; they shared about their personal experience with maturity and candor. I am blessed to work alongside such wonderful people, who gave of their time to serve our students well. It was certainly a great start to our semester!
